Yesterday was my birthday and I’m still pretty much in the birthday mood. I, for one, am very grateful for the gift of life and the blessing of living a good and comfortable life. As I lay in bed today, reflecting on my life and how far I’ve come. I realize that experience is not always the best teacher. We can save ourselves a lot of trouble if we can learn from others.

In today’s post, I want to share with you guys 10 thing I’ve learnt in over 20 years and hopefully, you can pick up a thing or two.

  • HAVE A PLAN

Have an idea of what you want the future to be like. Once you have that, you know what paths will take you closer to your goals. Remember, if you don’t know your destination, any path can take you there.

  • SAVE MONEY 10% OF YOUR MONEY

I used to spend every bit of my allowance. Half the time, I could barely account for all the money I receive. Along the line I learnt to save and I’ve reaped beneficially. Saving is a habit that might take time to build but once you get there, you’ll thank yourself. No matter the amount you receive or make, make it a point to save at least 10% off it.

  • THINK THROUGH EVERY DECISION

There are decisions that are reversible but there are some that may cost you. Think through every decision properly plus, choose your friends wisely.

  •  HAVE A SIDE HUSTLE

I get excited when I stumble upon all these online businesses owned by youngsters. More and more people are becoming business oriented which I think is a thing. Find a side hustle, no matter how huge your allowance is. Find your strengths and talents and let them make money for you.

  • TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHACTER AND YOUR REPUTATION WILL TAKE ARE OF ITSELF

Always behave properly no matter what your environment suggests. In the future, you’ll be grateful you did.

  • ALL MEN ARE NOT SCUM

One bad relationship doesn’t imply that all men are evil. Move past it and learn to love again. Your future partner shouldn’t suffer for the mistakes of an ex. You can’t bring old baggage to new places.

  • DON’T LET THE WORLD DEFINE YOU

Don’t spend a lot of your time trying to please the people in your life. Put yourself together and do things for you, things that make you happy and above all don’t compare yourself to others.

  • YOU WILL FAIL SOMETIMES

You won’t succeed at every endeavor. Sometimes you have to try harder and use an entirely different approach. Accept that failing is part of the process and pick yourself back up when you do.

  • TAKE CARE OF YOURELF

As long as you live, you’ll exist in just one body. You don’t get the chance to switch bodies when you feel like it. So, cherish your body, nourish it and keep it healthy. Learn to love every inch no matter what society says about it.

  • FORGIVE YOURSELF AND OTHERS

You are bound to make mistakes. Instead of beating yourself up about every wrong move, learn to forgive yourself and concentrate that energy on more positive ideas. Also, learn to forgive others even when they aren’t sorry. It’s good for your heart. theantwiwaa.com
